| Kerberos | An authentication service developed at MIT based on a paper by Needham and Schoeder. |

| Key Line | A BT term for a type of Private Circuit. |
| Key Management | The establishment and enforcement of message encryption (with a key) and authentication procedures, in order to provide privacy-enhanced mail (PEM) services for email transfer over the Internet. |
| Key System | A slang term for Keyphone System. |
| Keyboard Video and Mouse | A Keyboard, Video or Visual display unit, and Mouse, is a device which allows a user to control multiple computers from a single keyboard, visual diaply unit and mouse. |
| Keyphone | A telephone, proprietary to a particular Keyphone System, able to handle more than one call at a time, rather like a mini-switchboard. Has many function keys, some of them with lights as well. Particularly useful for distributed answering. |
| Keyphone System | Key Telephone System, known also as a Keyphone System. A telephone system where most of the telephones are proprietary and which have many additionsl programmable keys in additiona to the keypad. Enables multiple simultaneous calls to be controlled from one telephone. |
