Term	Definition
Frame Relay	A service designed for cost-effective transmission of data, and theoretically voice, for intermittent traffic between LANs, and between end-points on a WAN. Frame Relay puts data in a variable size unit called a Frame and leaves any necessary error correction (and subsequent re-transmission of data) up to the equipment at the end points. In so doing, transmission is fast.
