Nortel
Nortel, or Nortel Networks as they are better known, manufacture telephone systems and IT network equipment for business use. Nortel have links going all the way back to Alexander Graham Bell who invented the telephone, and his company ‘Bell Telephone Company’. Over the years they merged and acquired other communications businesses to become Nortel Networks, which supplies businesses today. Until 2000 Bell Canada held 94% of the shares in Nortel Networks. Today the company is owned by Avaya.
More recently Nortel Networks have been involved in IT networking and have become heavily involved in the advance of the internet and helping businesses realise their potential through better networking practices.
