"Our new telephone system is now up and running, in a record time with the minimum amount of downtime. The engineer was a pleasure to have in the building, a credit to your company." Robert Johnston, Director, The Gentleman's Shop, Hungerford |
Maxine completes the Three Peaks Challenge
Maxine Chadderton, Service Delivery Manager at IT and Telecoms company, du Pré plc, has returned to work triumphant, after successfully completing the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’, climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
Earlier this year, Maxine decided to undertake the arduous task in support of Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity she feels particularly close to since her mother died in 2007. The three peaks were all completed within a 24-hour period, with just eight minutes spare at the end.
Although a popular challenge with many adventurers, there is always a high number of people that drop out part way through the 24 hour period being unable to sustain the required extensive physical effort.
Extremely hard work
Speaking about the challenge, Maxine was rightly proud of her achievement. "It was extremely hard work, especially when we all climbing through the night, but it was a very worthwhile challenge and a great feeling now it’s finished. I had a great team with me for the climb and we all helped one another.
"I also had the support of everyone at du Pré behind me, and many of our IT and telephony customers had pledged funds to support the charity. It just demonstrates the importance of teamwork which is so crucial for success."
Over achieving the target
Maxine had set a target of £2,000 to raise in sponsorship funds for Breast Cancer Campaign and was so pleased to announce this has been over achieved, with more than £2,400 being raised so far.
"Mum would have been proud of the efforts everyone has made to raise this," said Maxine. "Climbing was hard work, but the credit should all go to the people who made the effort financially. I would like to thank everyone for making this possible."
Breast Cancer Campaign’s mission is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure.
About Maxine and the Support Team
Maxine joined du Pré plc in 1996 and has always been in a customer service role. In the early days, Maxine controlled service to customers who had straightforward telephone systems supplied by du Pré.
As the company incorporated the supply of IT systems Maxine encompassed the supporting of these within her role in the Support Team, and today, as Service Delivery Manager, Maxine ensures high levels of service are maintained for all customers, many of which have moved onto some of the more sophisticated Cisco and Samsung IP Telephony solutions and Microsoft IP networks.
