Newbury-based IT and telecoms company, du Pré, has expanded its sales team to serve UK companies requiring specialist advice and consultancy on business telecommunications and IT services.

The changes in the department, headed by Barry Anns, Deputy Managing Director, include the reorganisation of sales teams by turning some of the company's existing office-based employees into field-based, thereby increasing the quantity of face-to-face visits carried out.

Barry explained the rationale behind this. "Most of our customers appreciate the efforts we go to in taking the time to visit them and we always like to put a face to a name. It makes the relationship so much better and means that we understand more of what our customers are trying to achieve with their internal and external communications."

New recruitment of telephone sales consultants

The additions to the field-based team naturally left some spaces in the office-based team which has since resulted in the recruitment of four new team members. James Clutton, Ryan Carew, Brooke Hornby and Marie Beldam have undergone intensive training in the range of services provided by du Pré and have settled in very well by looking after the company’s existing customers.

"This is a great team to work in and there’s a really good culture," explained Marie, whose specialist area is BT's services, such as the BT Business Plan calls discount package. "There are many ways that BT helps businesses reduce costs on their telephone calls and customers appreciate having someone explain all the differences."

Telephone customer points of contact

The new department structure is already having a positive impact on du Pré's customers, as Barry explained. "Even this early, we can see that customers appreciate the extra points of contact with our staff and I’m starting to hear very positive reports.

"Customers are becoming increasingly aware of the products and services du Pré can help them with and how we can advise them of the changing IT and Telecommunications market and technologies."
